WHO ARE WE?
LOCALLY OWNED, FAMILY OPERATED
Sullivan Farms is a fifth generation family farm with a passion for agriculture and livestock. Earl Sullivan began farming as a child growing tobacco, corn, and soybeans. Fast forward to today, Earl and Cathy Sullivan along with son Scott and wife Katie, are the mainstay of the current farming and livestock operation.
Sullivan Farms currently tends around 3,000 acres of sweet potatoes, tobacco, cotton, and other crops spread across Wilson and Johnston counties. Sullivan Farms also raises quality show cattle and breeding stock.
With 3,000 acres of sweet potatoes, tobacco, cotton, and other crops spread across Wilson and Johnston counties, we're not just farmers, we're experts. We harvest our sweet corn in the summer daily. Along with our sweet corn, we grow Butterbeans (also known as Lima Beans), Dixie Lee Peas, and Pinkeye Purple Hull Peas. Last, but certainly not least, we are proud to harvest over 500 acres of Covington Sweet Potatoes.
Sullivan Farms was founded on row crops; however, roughly 30 years ago it ventured into the cattle industry, when Earl's son, Scott, decided he wanted to raise his own 4-H steers. Scott was determined to raise a winner from his own farm and he was quite successful. He showed his calves and then began selling his calves to other local youth.
Unknowing to him at the time, he sold his future wife, Katie, her first steer. They began dating years later, and when it came time to 'pop the question' Scott chose to ask in the middle of a cow pasture...long story short...she said Yes! Eleven years later, they have three daughters and two of which like showing livestock, but LOVE raising and showing cattle.
FROM OUR FARM TO
There’s nothing that says summer quite like Sullivan's sweet corn topped with butter, salt and pepper!
Whether you like to eat yours whole or baked in a side dish, Sullivan’s sweet potatoes are sure to be a hit!
BUTTERBEANS & PEAS
Butterbeans and peas are nice to freeze in the summer and enjoy in the winter, for a taste of Sullivan farms year-round!
Sullivan Farms always strives to raise good crops and great families, and now we are offering select cut meets for your family.
Our cattle are raised with grain and open pasture. We chose not to medicate our cattle unless needed; if antibiotics are used we take those calves out of our inventory and do not offer them to the public, but we consume them instead.
